It is an easy-to-make, gourmet-style dessert that works beautifully as a breakfast delight or a cozy afternoon snack. Perfectly balanced in sweetness and texture, it brings a delightful aroma to any kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale

3/4 cup granulated white sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 large egg, room temperature
1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup apples, finely chopped
For streusel: 1/4 cup flour, 2 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp sugar
For glaze: 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1 tbsp milk

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
Stir the white sugar, 1/2 cup melted butter, brown sugar, and egg together in a medium bowl.
Sift the flour, cinnamon, and baking soda into a large bowl.
Add the sugar-egg mixture to the flour mixture slowly, stirring until just combined.
Fold in the finely chopped apples gently.
Pour the batter into your prepared pan.
Mix the streusel ingredients in a bowl with a fork until coarse crumbs form and sprinkle over the batter.
Bake for 40 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center comes out cleanly.
Cool the bread on a rack for 15 minutes.
Whisk glaze ingredients together and drizzle over the cooled bread.

Notes

Ensure apples are finely chopped to maintain the structural integrity of the bread. For the streusel, use cold butter to achieve a better texture. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
