Ingredients
1/3 cup (75g) unsalted butter, divided
4 cloves (1 tbsp) minced garlic
1 3/4 pounds (794g) peeled and deveined shrimp
Pinch kosher salt
Pinch freshly ground black pepper
1–2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (half a lemon)
2 tablespoons water
Pinch chopped parsley (garnish)
Instructions
Peel and devein shrimp, leaving tails intact if desired.
Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Stir in shrimp, salt, and pepper; cook 2 minutes per side until partially opaque.
Add remaining butter, lemon juice, and water. Stir until butter melts and shrimp reach 145°F (63°C).
Remove from heat, adjust seasoning, and garnish with parsley.
Notes
Use fresh lemon juice for maximum brightness.
Cooking time ensures shrimp stay tender without overcooking.
Can substitute olive oil for 1 tbsp of butter, but butter ensures rich flavor.
