Description
Transform your classic comfort food into a fun, dippable, and portable snack. These grilled cheese roll-ups use flattened bread to create a perfectly crispy, golden exterior with a gooey, melted cheddar center. Ideal for parties or a quick lunch, these roll-ups provide a consistent, satisfying crunch in every bite with no messy leaks. Perfect for dipping into warm tomato soup.
Ingredients
8 slices white bread, crusts removed
8 slices sharp cheddar cheese
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
Flatten the bread slices evenly using a rolling pin until very thin.
Place one slice of cheese on the edge of each bread piece.
Roll the bread tightly over the cheese to form a cylinder.
Secure the edge of the roll with a wooden toothpick.
Brush the outside of each roll-up with melted butter.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Place rolls in the pan, seam side down, to seal.
Rotate the rolls using tongs until every side is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Notes
Always roll the bread as thin as possible to avoid a gummy center. Use Monterey Jack or Swiss as flavorful alternatives to cheddar. Remove toothpicks carefully before serving.
