Description
Restaurant-quality crunchy potato slices made with a spicy garlic and chili seasoning. Soaked and rice flour-coated potatoes air fry to golden perfection in under 20 minutes. A quick, halal-friendly side dish for any meal.
Ingredients
450 g potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold), 1 teaspoon garlic powder, ½–1 teaspoon chili powder (cayenne optional), 1½ teaspoons rice flour (cornstarch or potato starch), 2 tablespoons oil (avocado, canola, or olive), ½ teaspoon ground black pepper, salt to taste
Instructions
Slice potatoes ⅛ inch thick
Soak in cold water for 15 minutes
Drain and pat dry thoroughly
In a bowl, combine oil, garlic powder, chili powder, rice flour, pepper, and salt
Toss slices until evenly coated
Preheat air fryer to 200°C (390°F)
Arrange slices in single layer (no overlapping)
Air fry 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway
Notes
Slice potatoes uniformly for even cooking
Use cold water soak to remove starch
For oil-free option: brush coating directly onto slices
Store leftovers in airtight container up to 2 days
