Description
Juicy beef patties topped with melted cheese, crisp veggies, and classic condiments on toasted buns. Easy to make at home with fresh, high-quality ingredients for a restaurant-style experience.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef (93% lean or leaner)
1–1/2 teaspoons steak seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic, paprika)
4 hamburger buns, split
4 cheese slices (cheddar, American, or Swiss)
4 lettuce leaves (iceberg or romaine)
4 tomato slices (ripe, fresh)
Optional toppings: ketchup, mustard, onion, pickles
Instructions
Combine ground beef and steak seasoning in a bowl. Mix gently until just combined.
Divide beef into four equal portions. Shape into 1/2-inch thick patties.
Preheat grill or stovetop skillet to medium heat. Cook patties 6-8 minutes, turning once, until 160°F.
Add cheese slices during last 2 minutes of cooking; cover to melt. Toast buns cut-side down.
Layer lettuce and tomatoes on the bottom bun. Add patty with cheese, then optional toppings and the top bun.
Notes
Use lean beef for bold flavor and juice retention.
Brioche or potato buns add extra richness.
Adjust toppings to your preference (e.g., add avocado or relish).
