Description

A perfect party appetizer or quick weeknight meal, these Baked Cheesy Italian Sliders combine savory deli meats and cheeses between sweet slider buns. They offer an explosion of Italian flavors, baked until golden and gooey. The ultimate crowd-pleaser, delivering satisfaction with every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

1 (12-pack) Original Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
4 slices deli chicken breast
2 slices deli ham (honey or Black Forest)
3 slices halal turkey pepperoni (instead of hot capicola)
3 slices Genoa salami
5 slices provolone cheese
2 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
1 Tbsp. pepperoncini juice
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
2 Tbsp. melted butter

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Slice the Hawaiian sweet rolls in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom halves intact.
Layer the deli chicken, ham, halal turkey pepperoni, and Genoa salami evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
Top the meats with the provolone cheese slices.
In a small bowl, whisk together the red wine vinegar, pepperoncini juice, and Italian seasoning. Drizzle this mixture evenly over the fillings.
Place the top half of the rolls over the fillings.
Brush the melted butter evenly over the top of the slider buns.
Cover the sliders with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, omit all meats and cheeses and use a layer of marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
Ensure all deli meats are halal certified if strict adherence is required.
If you don’t have pepperoncini juice, a little pickle juice or extra vinegar can be used, but adjust to taste.
These sliders are best served warm.
