2 tbsp salted butter (for filling)
8 medium apples, sliced
1/4 cup cold water
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup light brown sugar (packed)
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp kosher salt (split)
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup brown sugar (for crust)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 cup frozen salted butter (2 sticks)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add sliced apples and coat with butter.
Mix water and cornstarch in a small bowl, add to apples along with spices and half the salt, cooking until slightly thickened.
