Description

Transform raw garlic into sweet, spreadable mellow bulbs using an air fryer. Just garlic, olive oil, and foil yield tender, caramelized cloves perfect for enhancing dishes quickly.

Ingredients

Whole heads of garlic
Olive oil (1 teaspoon per head)

Instructions

Cut off the top of each garlic head, about 1/4 inch from the top, exposing the tips of the cloves while keeping the head intact.
Peel away any loose papery skin, but leave the cloves connected at the base.
Tear a piece of aluminum foil large enough to wrap each head completely.
Place each garlic head on a foil square, cut side up, and drizzle 1 teaspoon of olive oil over the exposed cloves.
Wrap the foil tightly around each head, forming a sealed packet.
Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 2 minutes.
Place the foil-wrapped garlic heads in the air fryer basket, cut side up.
Air fry for 25 minutes, or until the garlic is golden and tender.

Notes

Use extra virgin olive oil for the best flavor; unrefined avocado oil is a viable substitute.
Spread roasted garlic on warm bread, mix into mashed potatoes, or blend into salad dressings.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
