1 ¾ cup self-rising flour
1 cup vanilla plant-based yogurt
3 tbsp unrefined cane sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
¼ cup dairy-free butter, melted
1–2 tbsp coconut oil
Instructions
Combine the self-rising flour and vanilla yogurt in a large mixing bowl.
Stir with a silicone spatula until a shaggy dough forms.
Lubricate hands with melted coconut oil or plant-based butter.
Knead by hand until a soft, elastic dough ball is achieved.
Divide the dough into eight equal portions.
Roll each portion into a ball and smooth with a little extra oil.
Press your thumb into the center of each ball to form a donut shape.
Air fry or bake until golden brown and cooked through.
Brush with melted dairy-free butter and coat with cinnamon sugar mixture.
Notes
Use a thick plant-based yogurt for the best dough consistency. If you do not have self-rising flour, you can create it by adding 2.5 teaspoons of baking powder and 0.5 teaspoons of salt to every cup of all-purpose flour. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
