Ingredients
Scale
- 3 pounds top sirloin steak, cubed: lean and flavorful base
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided: for searing beef
- 1 teaspoon Lawry’s Seasoned Salt, divided: adds savory depth
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste: enhances flavor
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth: gravy base
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce: adds umami and tang
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning: herbal depth
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme: earthy note
- 1 cup diced onion: sweetness and aroma
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic: bold and aromatic
- 1 bay leaf: subtle herbal flavor
- 3 tablespoons water: used in slurry
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch: thickens the gravy
Instructions
- Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add half the beef cubes, season with half the seasoned salt and pepper, and sear until browned. Transfer to slow cooker.
- Repeat with remaining oil and beef. Transfer all browned beef to slow cooker.
- Pour beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the beef in the slow cooker.
- Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and thyme. Add diced onion, minced garlic, and tuck in the bay leaf.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or on HIGH for 3–4 hours, until beef is fork-tender.
- Mix cornstarch with water to form a slurry. Stir into the slow cooker during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
- Let the gravy thicken, then remove bay leaf and serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
