Description

These Sausage Cheese Balls are a classic, crowd-pleasing appetizer made with savory sausage, melty cheddar cheese, and Bisquick for a perfectly tender and flavorful bite. Ideal for parties, brunches, or quick snacks, this recipe delivers cheesy comfort in every mouthful.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups Bisquick baking mix
  • 1 pound pork sausage (mild or hot)
  • 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Cooking spray or parchment paper (for baking sheet)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly coat with cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine Bisquick, sausage, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, and milk.
  3. Mix thoroughly using clean hands or a sturdy spoon until all ingredients are evenly blended into a cohesive dough.
  4. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, shape the mixture into 1½-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes, rotating the sheet halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce such as ranch or honey mustard.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the dough; overworking can make the texture tough.
  • If the mixture feels dry, add a tablespoon of milk at a time until the right consistency is achieved.
  • Use freshly shredded cheese for the best melting results.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Reheat in the microwave or oven until heated through to 165°F.
