Description
These Sausage Cheese Balls are a classic, crowd-pleasing appetizer made with savory sausage, melty cheddar cheese, and Bisquick for a perfectly tender and flavorful bite. Ideal for parties, brunches, or quick snacks, this recipe delivers cheesy comfort in every mouthful.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups Bisquick baking mix
- 1 pound pork sausage (mild or hot)
- 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- Cooking spray or parchment paper (for baking sheet)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly coat with cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine Bisquick, sausage, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, and milk.
- Mix thoroughly using clean hands or a sturdy spoon until all ingredients are evenly blended into a cohesive dough.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, shape the mixture into 1½-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, rotating the sheet halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce such as ranch or honey mustard.
Notes
- Do not overmix the dough; overworking can make the texture tough.
- If the mixture feels dry, add a tablespoon of milk at a time until the right consistency is achieved.
- Use freshly shredded cheese for the best melting results.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
- Reheat in the microwave or oven until heated through to 165°F.
