  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for cheesecake layer)
  • 1 large egg (for cheesecake layer)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cheesecake layer)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract and red food coloring.
  4. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Fold gently until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat softened cream cheese with 1/4 cup sugar until smooth.
  6. Add egg and vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture and beat until creamy and lump-free.
  7. Pour 3/4 of the red velvet batter into the prepared pan and smooth evenly.
  8. Spread the cheesecake layer over the brownie batter.
  9. Dollop remaining red velvet batter on top and swirl with a knife or toothpick for a marbled effect.
  10. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  11. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Chill for 30 minutes for cleaner cuts.
  12. Slice into squares and serve as is or with whipped cream or chocolate drizzle.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cream cheese for a smooth, lump-free cheesecake layer.
