Description

These Puff Pastry Appetizers are flaky, golden, and irresistibly easy to make. Featuring a variety of fillings like Brie, prosciutto, spinach, and feta, these elegant bites are perfect for parties, holidays, or quick snacks. With store-bought puff pastry, you can create impressive, crowd-pleasing appetizers in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry: provides the flaky, buttery base
  • 1 egg (beaten): for the golden egg wash
  • 1/2 cup Brie cheese: adds a creamy, rich texture
  • 1/4 cup raspberry jam: brings a sweet contrast
  • 2 tbsp crushed walnuts: adds crunch and nuttiness
  • 1/4 cup feta cheese: for tangy flavor
  • 2 tbsp sun-dried tomatoes: adds Mediterranean depth
  • 4 oz sausage meat: savory and hearty filling
  • 2 tbsp pesto sauce: aromatic and vibrant
  • 1/2 cup spinach (chopped): adds color and nutrients
  • 1 clove garlic (minced): enhances flavor

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Thaw the puff pastry according to package directions and keep it slightly chilled for easy handling.
  3. Cut the pastry into squares or rectangles depending on your desired shape.
  4. Add fillings such as Brie and raspberry jam, feta and sun-dried tomato, or sausage and mustard to each square.
  5. Fold or roll the pastry over the filling, sealing edges lightly with a fork.
  6. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a glossy, golden finish.
  7. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until puffed and deeply golden brown.
  8. Cool slightly before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Keep puff pastry cold before baking for maximum flakiness.
  • Do not overfill to prevent leaks and soggy bottoms.
  • Unbaked pastries can be frozen for up to one month and baked from frozen.
  • Experiment with sweet and savory fillings for variety.
