  • Yield: 24 bars 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

M&M Magic Bars are a festive and easy-to-make dessert packed with chocolate, marshmallows, peanuts, and colorful M&M’s. With their gooey texture and crunchy candy topping, these layered cookie bars are perfect for holidays, parties, or bake sales. Simple, sweet, and irresistible for all ages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter, melted, plus more for buttering the dish
  • 14 chocolate graham crackers
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (10-ounce) bag mint chocolate chips
  • 1 cup cocktail peanuts, coarsely chopped
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup red and green M&M’s
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped candy canes
  • 1/4 cup red and green sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with foil, leaving a 2-inch overhang on both sides, and butter the foil.
  2. Pulse the chocolate graham crackers in a food processor until fine crumbs form. Add the melted butter and pulse until the mixture holds together when pressed.
  3. Press the crumb mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared dish using the bottom of a measuring cup.
  4. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crust.
  5. Sprinkle the mint chocolate chips, peanuts, mini marshmallows, M&M’s, candy canes, and sprinkles over the top.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the sides are golden brown and begin to pull away from the baking dish.
  7. Allow the bars to cool completely for about 1 hour. Lift them from the pan using the foil and carefully remove the lining.
  8. Cut into 24 bars and serve or store for later.

Notes

  • Line the pan with heavy-duty foil or parchment and butter it well to prevent sticking.
  • Don’t overbake; remove when marshmallows are golden brown.
  • Chill before slicing for cleaner edges.
  • Substitute peanuts with almonds, pecans, or omit for a nut-free option.
  • Store at room temperature for 4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
