Ingredients
Scale
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon half-and-half
- 1/2 cup red and green sprinkles
- 1 2/3 cups white chocolate chips (divided)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder.
- In a stand mixer or large bowl, cream the butter for 1 minute. Add sugar and continue mixing for 3 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Beat in vanilla extract and egg until well combined.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients, then add half-and-half to create a soft but not sticky dough.
- Fold in sprinkles and 2/3 cup of the white chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Roll rounded teaspoons of dough into balls and place on prepared baking sheets. Flatten slightly with fingertips dipped in half-and-half.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes or until lightly golden around the edges. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Repeat with remaining dough, ensuring baking sheets cool between batches.
- Melt remaining white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl for 1 minute, stirring halfway. Drizzle over cooled cookies and let set for 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Chill dough for 20–30 minutes before baking to prevent over-spreading.
- Adjust baking time based on oven performance — check at 10 minutes for a softer cookie.
- Store in an airtight container for up to one week at room temperature.
- Use festive sprinkles or peppermint bits for variation.
- Allow cookies to cool completely before drizzling white chocolate for the best presentation.
