Description

This Hot Honey Chicken recipe is the perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and savory flavors. Made with juicy chicken tenders, homemade hot honey, and a tangy apple cider vinegar glaze, it’s a quick and delicious dinner ready in just 20 minutes. Perfect for weeknights, meal prep, or family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 pounds chicken tenders
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, divided
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/3 cup hot honey
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 thinly sliced green onions, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken tenders dry with a paper towel and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown on the bottom, about 4 minutes. Flip and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Transfer to a plate and tent with foil.
  3. Add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and minced garlic to the same skillet. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the apple cider vinegar and hot honey, then bring to a low boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat and simmer for 5–8 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and return the chicken to the skillet. Spoon the glaze over the chicken to coat evenly.
  6. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • To make homemade hot honey, simmer 1/2 cup honey with 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper for 10 minutes, then strain and cool.
  • Adjust spice level by increasing or decreasing the crushed red pepper or hot honey amount.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • Reheat gently in a skillet to maintain the glaze’s texture.
