Description

Homemade Maple Granola is a crunchy baked oat cereal naturally sweetened with maple syrup and warm spices. Perfect for breakfast, yogurt bowls, or healthy snacking, it’s easy to prepare and customizable with nuts, seeds, or dried fruit.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup olive oil or coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon maple extract (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1/3 cup seeds or dried fruit added after baking (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk maple syrup, oil, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, salt, and maple extract until smooth.
  3. Add rolled oats and stir until fully coated.
  4. Spread mixture evenly on baking sheet and press gently to form clusters.
  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes until lightly golden brown.
  6. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely without stirring.
  7. Break into chunks and mix in dried fruit or extra toppings.
  8. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.

Notes

  • Do not stir while baking if you want large crunchy clusters.
  • Add dried fruit only after baking to prevent burning.
  • Bake longer for crisp granola and shorter for chewy texture.
  • Cool completely before storing to keep crunchiness.
  • Works well with yogurt, milk, or smoothie bowls.
