  • Author: Alice Barry

  • Yield: 6 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Fresh Strawberry Iced Tea is a refreshing and naturally sweet summer drink made with brewed black tea, ripe strawberries, and honey. This homemade fruit-infused tea is light, vibrant, and free from refined sugar, making it perfect for barbecues, picnics, or everyday cooling refreshment.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups water
  • 3 black tea bags
  • 4 cups fresh ripe strawberries, hulled
  • 1/4 cup honey (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes, for serving
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
  • Extra sliced strawberries (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat, add the black tea bags, and steep for 3–5 minutes. Remove tea bags and allow the tea to cool completely.
  2. Wash, hull, and slice the fresh strawberries.
  3. Add the strawberries and honey to a blender. Blend until smooth to create a strawberry puree.
  4. Strain the puree through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl to remove seeds and pulp for a smoother texture (optional).
  5. Fill a glass with ice cubes. Add about 1/4 cup of strawberry puree to the glass.
  6. Pour 1/2 to 1 cup of cooled brewed tea over the puree and stir well to combine.
  7. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and sliced strawberries if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use very ripe strawberries for the sweetest and most flavorful iced tea.
  • Adjust honey based on the natural sweetness of the berries.
  • For a lower-calorie option, substitute honey with monk fruit sweetener.
  • Straining the puree creates a smoother drink but can be skipped for added fiber.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days and stir before serving.
