Easy Deviled Eggs for Easter: Adorable Chick-Themed Bites Everyone Will Love

  • Author: Alice Barry
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 12 deviled egg chicks 1x
  • Diet: Gluten Free

Description

These Deviled Eggs (Easter Trending) are a fun, festive twist on the classic appetizer. Shaped like adorable chicks, they’re creamy, tangy, and irresistibly cute — perfect for Easter brunch, potlucks, or family gatherings. With simple ingredients and easy steps, these deviled eggs are both delicious and eye-catching, making them the centerpiece of your spring celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large eggs – hard-boiled and peeled
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise – for creamy texture
  • 1 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard – adds tangy depth
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder – enhances flavor
  • 1/8 tsp salt – to balance taste
  • 1 small carrot – sliced for chick beaks
  • 6 black olives – used for eyes
  • Fresh parsley or dill – for garnish and presentation

Instructions

  1. Boil and peel 12 large eggs. Slice a thin layer from the bottom of each egg so they stand upright, then cut off the top third of each egg.
  2. Gently remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl. Mash until smooth.
  3. Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and salt. Mix until creamy and well combined.
  4. Transfer the filling to a piping or zip-top bag. Pipe the mixture into the egg bases to form the chick bodies.
  5. Place the top third of each egg back on as a ‘hat.’
  6. Cut small triangles from the carrot slices for beaks and tiny olive circles for eyes (a straw works well for cutting). Insert them gently into the filling.
  7. Arrange the deviled egg chicks on a platter with fresh parsley or dill to resemble grass. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Use slightly older eggs for easier peeling.
  • Cool boiled eggs in ice water immediately to prevent cracking.
  • Substitute Dijon mustard with white wine vinegar if needed.
  • Prepare the filling a day ahead for convenience and assemble before serving.
  • To make spicy deviled eggs, add a pinch of cayenne or hot sauce.
