- 4 oz (115g) semisweet chocolate, finely chopped (for ganache)
- 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream (for ganache)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gently fold until just combined.
- Pour batter into the pan, smooth it out, and bake for 20–25 minutes. Cool completely in the pan.
- Heat the milk until steaming, then pour over chopped chocolate. Let sit for 2 minutes and stir until smooth. Cool to room temperature.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Fold in the cooled chocolate mixture gently until fully incorporated.
- Spread the mousse evenly over the cooled brownie base. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- For ganache, heat cream until simmering and pour over chopped chocolate. Let sit, then stir until smooth.
- Spread ganache over the mousse layer and chill for another hour until set.
