Description

These chocolate chip cookies are soft, chewy, and packed with gooey chocolate in every bite. Made with simple pantry ingredients, this no-chill recipe delivers perfect cookies every time — golden on the edges, tender in the center, and full of buttery flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter: provides richness and moisture
  • 1 cup granulated sugar: adds sweetness and crisp edges
  • 1 cup light brown sugar: adds chewiness and caramel flavor
  • 2 large eggs: bind ingredients and add structure
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract: enhances aroma and flavor
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour: gives structure to cookies
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda: helps cookies rise
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder: adds lightness
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt: balances sweetness
  • 2 cups chocolate chips: the star ingredient for melty chocolate goodness

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line three baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract, beating until smooth and fully combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  7. Roll 2 tablespoons of dough per cookie into balls and place them on prepared sheets, spaced 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until cookies are lightly golden on the edges but still soft in the center.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Do not overbake; cookies continue cooking as they cool.
  • For best results, measure flour using the scoop-and-level method.
  • Dough can be frozen for up to 2 months; bake frozen dough at 350°F for 15 minutes.
  • For extra chewiness, use more brown sugar than white sugar.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days at room temperature.
