Description

These Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls are a no-bake dessert made with buttery cookie dough, mini chocolate chips, and a smooth chocolate coating. Perfect for parties or a quick sweet snack, they deliver all the flavor of classic cookie dough without baking or raw eggs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2/3 cup (1 1/3 sticks) butter, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips
  • 12 ounces dark chocolate wafers or semisweet chocolate chips (for coating)
  • 6 blocks chocolate-almond bark (such as CandyQuik)

Instructions

  1. In an electric mixer, beat the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, applesauce, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  2. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add to the butter mixture while mixing on low speed until combined.
  3. Fold in the mini semisweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  4. Use a small ice cream scoop to portion the dough, then roll into balls by hand.
  5. Place dough balls on a wax paper–lined baking sheet and freeze for 30 minutes to firm up.
  6. Meanwhile, melt the dark chocolate wafers and almond bark in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth.
  7. Dip each chilled dough ball into the melted chocolate, coating it evenly using two spoons.
  8. Return coated dough balls to the wax paper and refrigerate for 30 minutes until set.
  9. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Ensure dough balls are well chilled before dipping to keep their shape.
  • For a vegan version, use plant-based butter and dairy-free chocolate chips.
  • Freeze for up to 3 months; thaw for 10–15 minutes before serving.
  • Use heat-treated flour if you prefer extra safety for no-bake desserts.
  • Sprinkle sea salt on top for a gourmet touch.
