These Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls are a no-bake dessert made with buttery cookie dough, mini chocolate chips, and a smooth chocolate coating. Perfect for parties or a quick sweet snack, they deliver all the flavor of classic cookie dough without baking or raw eggs.

- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup applesauce
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips
- 12 ounces dark chocolate wafers or semisweet chocolate chips (for coating)
- 6 blocks chocolate-almond bark (such as CandyQuik)
Instructions
- In an electric mixer, beat the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, applesauce, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add to the butter mixture while mixing on low speed until combined.
- Fold in the mini semisweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Use a small ice cream scoop to portion the dough, then roll into balls by hand.
- Place dough balls on a wax paper–lined baking sheet and freeze for 30 minutes to firm up.
- Meanwhile, melt the dark chocolate wafers and almond bark in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth.
- Dip each chilled dough ball into the melted chocolate, coating it evenly using two spoons.
- Return coated dough balls to the wax paper and refrigerate for 30 minutes until set.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
