These Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks are soft, buttery, and loaded with melted cheese and garlic flavor. - 1 1/8 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1 1/2 – 2 cups bread flour or all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tablespoons salted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 1/4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- In a large bowl or stand mixer, combine 1/2 cup warm water with sugar and yeast. Stir and let rest for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add the remaining 1/4 cup warm water, olive oil, salt, and vinegar. Gradually mix in the flour until a soft, elastic dough forms.
- Knead for several minutes until smooth and slightly tacky. Cover the bowl with a towel and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
- Punch down the dough and place it on parchment paper. Shape into a rectangle about 1/3 inch thick using your hands or a rolling pin.
- Mix melted butter and minced garlic, then spread evenly over the dough. Sprinkle Parmesan and mozzarella cheese on top.
- Carefully transfer the dough (on parchment paper) onto the preheated stone or baking sheet.
- Bake for 8–12 minutes, until golden and bubbly. Slice into breadsticks and serve warm with marinara or ranch sauce.
Notes
- Make the dough ahead and refrigerate for up to 4 hours before baking.
- To freeze, store dough in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before use.
- Use freshly grated cheese for better melting and flavor.
- Brush extra garlic butter on top after baking for added flavor.
