  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 2 (15-ounce) cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 (15-ounce) can corn, drained
  • 1 (15-ounce) can black beans, drained
  • 3 cups water or broth
  • Shredded cheese, for garnish (optional)
  • Avocado, for garnish (optional)
  • Chopped cilantro, for garnish (optional)
  • Tortilla chips, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef and diced onions over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onions are soft. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Add the cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and cayenne pepper. Stir and cook for 1 minute to release the spices’ aroma.
  3. Pour in the diced tomatoes (with liquid), corn (drained), and black beans (drained). Add 3 cups of water or broth and stir well.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally to blend flavors.
  5. Ladle the Beef Taco Soup into bowls. Garnish with shredded cheese, avocado slices, cilantro, jalapeños, or tortilla chips as desired.
