Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
- Use a knife to cut shallow Vs or Xs into the hot dogs to prevent bursting and promote crispiness.
- Place the hot dogs in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry for 6 minutes or until the edges are browned and crispy to your liking.
- Optional: Place the cooked hot dogs in buns and air fry for an additional 1–2 minutes to toast.
- Remove from the air fryer, top with desired condiments, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Cutting slits in the hot dogs helps them cook evenly and prevents curling.
- For thinner pork or chicken hot dogs, cut slits on both sides to maintain shape.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the air fryer for 2–3 minutes at 350°F.
- For a vegan version, substitute with plant-based sausages and reduce cooking time by 1–2 minutes.
